About
This free 1 CEU hour training continues the Recovery Ready Banking series by examining why alternative financial institutions can feel accessible during recovery, while also creating costly financial barriers. Participants will learn about common services such as check cashing, payday loans, title loans, pawn shops, and prepaid cards, as well as community-based alternatives including CDFIs and recovery-oriented financial programs. The session addresses fear, avoidance, and mistrust around mainstream banking and reinforces that financial literacy is a skill that can be learned as part of recovery.
