Completing of this course will satisfy the RADPSS state requirement 3 hrs of Domestic Violence training. This course explores the societal, psychological, and legal responses to DV and emphasizes the importance of supporting real victims and holding perpetrators accountable. Additionally, practical guidance is provided for victims, friends, and healthcare providers on how to respond to domestic violence situations. Learning Objectives - Objective 1: Understand and recognize the different forms of abuse within intimate relationships. - Objective 2: Understand and recognize the predictors of who is more likely to become a victim or perpetrator. - Objective 3: Understand and recognize the issue of false reports in domestic violence cases. - Objective 4: Understand and recognize the social, psychological, and legal responses to domestic violence. - Objective 5: Learn resources and information for those experiencing domestic violence and for healthcare professionals, friends, and loved ones who suspect abuse. - Objective 6: Hear testimonials from both the victim and convicted perpetrators The BestKyTraining.com Peer Support training program provides ongoing development of professional competency and epitomizes all three definitions of continuing education. Students acquire new skills and knowledge being taught by highly experienced APSS’s in long term recovery that are also graduate alumni of the Grin Grant program. We have a 24/7 online group chat to encourage discussion and recovery meetings that are exclusively for peer supports in order to allow discussions that would not be appropriate in general recovery (12-step) meetings. Students are encouraged to stay connected to our peer support interactive community after they become certified which provides the perfect platform for ongoing strengthening of the habits for critical inquiry and balanced judgement.
